The girls lately

We have been keeping busy playing with friends, doing school, and wishing for more snow.  Here are some pictures of the girls lately.
Cuddling on Vivian's mattress

Enjoying the chocolate covered banana peanut butter sandwiches they made

Shelby rocking "squirmy wormy"

Watching a movie

My waitress!  Shelby ran and got her jacket to tie around her waist so that it could hold her notepad and pen.  I had a latte and cinnamon roll at her cafe.  :)

A blessing ... A date

Our sweet friend, Emily, watched the girls ALL DAY yesterday so that Josh and I could go to Spokane for a date!  We ate lunch, then watched "Lone Survivor" (very good movie that we highly recommend!) then headed home with pizza to share dinner with our family and the LaPorte's. The girls had a great time playing and we enjoyed lots of time together.
Here are the kiddos, watching a 3-D movie - what fun!

Thank you, Emily!!!  That was such a blessing!  We look forward to returning the favor soon!

Sledding...by herself?!?!

So proud of Shelby - when she wants to do something, she does it!  Some days she complains and wants help, but NOT today!  She was so big and totally sledded by herself!  (Is "sledded" a word?  hehe) Check it out:

Love these girls!!!

Poop

Last night I was going to post about how neat it is that we are a diaper-free home (at least for the next ~4 months). Vivian has been doing very well potty training for the past 1.5 weeks. We went cold turkey from diapers to undies and I have been impressed with how well she has done! Very little accidents during the day and lately no accidents at nap time or during the night. Awesome!

Then today came upon us. And let me just say...I hate poop. Newborn poo from a breast-fed baby is one thing; I can totally handle that. But once the little munchkin starts eating real food...Y.U.C.K.  Today was her first poo accident and I about lost it. Tears were involved from all parties.

Now all is well and clean, washer is running and our tears have dried. But when you think of us, please pray for us. Mainly for me, that I can be a good momma to this potty-training girl.

I wish you all a clean week!

Bald Eagles

This time of year there are lots of Bald Eagles on the Kettle River.  We got to enjoy watching them swoop up and down the river while my family was here over Christmas.  Josh captured this neat picture of one on a tree outside our house the day after Christmas.
