Seven months old...

Vivian is 7 months old today! It is fun to look back at Shelby each month as Vivian gets older.  So many things are the same, so here are some stats on Vivian at 7 months:
  • She can sit up very well on her own
  • She can roll over well and move in a circle
  • She gets up on her hands and knees often and rocks (she has WAYYYY more potential for crawling then Shelby ever did!)  :)
  • She has her two front teeth on the bottom
  • She has started to move her mouth as though she is chewing while others are eating
  • She still drools all the time!
  • She LOVES watching Shelby and tries to see what she is doing at all times
  • She knows her name
  • She likes to jabber and squeal, and laugh at Shelby being silly
  • If she coughs or sneezes or burps or toots she looks at your for a reaction - either a "Good job, Vivian" or laughter
  • She is very busy - hands and feet moving all the time
  • Height: 26.5 inches (75th percentile)
  • Weight: 17lb 12oz (75th percentile)
  • Head: 44 cm
She is a super sweet girl and we are excited for her and Shelby to spend time with their cousins, aunts and uncles and Grandpa and Grandma!  Colorado...here we come!

Normal day fun

Here's a snapshot of some of our normal day fun!
The girls like to play in the laundry baskets.  Here they are, jamming to music on Daddy's iPod.

Shelby was so very sweet!  She laid the "toy blanket" out all nice and dumped the toys out, ready to play with Vivian!

We decided it is time for the highchair.  It is a nice seat for Vivian and an easy mode of transportation.  Shelby loves (and I mean LOVES) to push Vivian all around the house in the highchair - it is so cute!  Drawback...Shelby also likes to sit in it when it isn't occupied by her baby sister.  Oh well.  She looks cute in it, too.  :)

We keeping thinking Vivian is getting close to crawling. She will get up on all fours, by herself, and rock.  Sometimes she tries to move but you can tell she just doesn't know how.  Exciting!!!  Maybe when we are in Colorado she will do it.  Oh!  Did I mention we are headed to CO?!?!?!  Yes!  We will be there for the first week of July, along with my WHOLE family. We are very excited to see everyone again.  My Aunt and Uncle from Montana will be there so we'll get to see some extended family that we haven't seen in a while.  Should be TONS of fun!  We are all hoping David will make an appearance so we can meet him - come on out little buddy!

Have a great weekend!

Teaser

We mentioned that we had our family pictures taken while we were in San Antonio...here is a little teaser.

It will be a few weeks before we get all of them from our wonderful photographer, Elizabeth at Snap Happy Portraits.  We'll be sure to let you know!

Shelby's 3!

Shelby turned 3 on June 7th and boy have we had a busy week!  Just before her birthday she came down with a fever, peaking at 104 and consistent at 103 for three days.  Poor girl!  She did her best to have fun opening presents and even did well riding in the van to San Antonio for our weekend celebration.  Thank you to those who called to talk with her and sing her Happy Birthday on her birthday...she wasn't feeling well and didn't feel like chatting, but I know she was glad to have you call.

Thank you for all of the presents you sent.  Shelby has had fun with them...especially the horses, stable, semi and trailer for the horses, etc.  What fun!

We enjoyed our weekend in San Antonio - a time to get away and just have fun.  We went to Sea World, the Children's Museum, and the Riverwalk; we ate lots of yummy food; and we were able to get family pictures taken!  We were glad to be back home, in our own beds.  Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Friday morning at Sea World...Shelby still running a fever, but starting to feel better.

Vivian loved the dolphins! :)  Ok, I am not sure she knew what she was looking at, but she was having fun none-the-less.

Just after the Shamu show - we loved watching those whales.  Amazing creatures!  And Shelby is a people watcher, so it was hard to get a picture of her looking at the camera.  :)
Shelby's favorite show at Sea World was the walrus and sea lions.

HEB at the Children's Museum.  Shelby had a blast grocery shopping!

The girls playing in the hotel room.  Shelby was dressing her baby and Vivian (as usual) just happy to be with Shelby, watching her every move.

Did I mention TEETH!?

Just a week shy of 6 months Vivian cut her first tooth.  She now has her two bottom teeth.  Horrible picture, I know, but it is hard to get!  Shelby was 5 months when she got her first teeth.

Vivian is getting close to crawling, we think.  She uses her face and her feet.  It is pretty cute!

A day at the ranch

The girls and I had so much fun today!  After a morning of playing with our dear friends in Alpine, we headed to Walter and Janet's ranch to see the horses.  Shelby's favorite movie, as you may recall, is "The Man From Snowy River" and she loves horses!  Like all animals, she seems to like them from a distance and gets scared when they are close to her.  However, today she did great!  Several times she would reach out her hand to pet Hank, the dog.  And she was pretty close to some wild horses today.  Enjoy the pictures.

A HUGE Thank You to Walter and Janet for opening up your home and your ranch to us.  We had a wonderful time!  Thanks for driving us all around, Janet.
While out with the horses we got to see two fighter jets fly overhead.

Here Shelby and Janet are sitting on their salt blocks, watching the horses eat.

Janet put out some feed for the horses so that they would stay near us and they sure did!  This mamma and her foul were within arms length.

Shelby enjoyed riding in the ranch truck - both in the back seat and up in the front between Janet and Hank, the dog (driving) & Melissa and baby Cameryn (passenger seat, friends who joined us at the ranch).

Excited here, as she heard the horses and cows making all sorts of noise.

Shelby and Vivian did great all day long!

Vivian fell asleep just as we were leaving the ranch and Shelby fell asleep before we even left Marathon.  Shelby told Josh all about the horses, the ranch, the ranch truck and her rocks. We had a super fun day and now we are ready for a good night's sleep.

Thanks again, Walter and Janet!

Vivian is 6 months old today!

Today our sweet girl, Vivian is 6 months old.  She is a very precious girl who is happy (almost) all the time!  She is doing well sitting up on her own.  She loves her sister; and Shelby loves being silly for Vivian.

She loves playing with toys and being around people.  She loves to squeal and laugh and smile and talk.
We love our sweet little Vivian Ruth Hamilton!
