There's no use crying over spilled milk!

I honestly never thought this would happen to us.  What was I thinking?  Yes, tonight Vivian (3 years old) tried to poor milk into her cup on her own.  She ... missed.  :)  Thankfully we didn't get upset, just cleaned it up and she was eager to help clean it up with us.  Incase you can't tell, she is laughing in this picture.

Wednesday Vivian got her balance bike!  She was super excited!!!  It rained here for 3 days and we are very glad to have the rain!  Vivian's mode of transportation around the house today was her balance bike.  It was fun to watch her.  This evening the girls got to ride their bikes as the rain stopped around lunch time and by the time Josh got home it was dry.  They are doing so good!!!
ISN'T SHE SO SWEET???!!!!!  Love this girl!

Shelby is getting better on her bike!

And Jared loves being outside!  He crawled two houses down and was crying when I had to bring him in.  Funny boy.

I don't ever remember wearing helmets as kids when we rode our bikes.  Did you?  But some friends of ours gave us some hand-me-downs (sweet!) and there were two helmets in there!  This was a while ago and the girls wore the helmets around our house for a few days - no bikes.  Hehehe   I finally got the helmets in the garage for storage and now that they have bikes it is great that they wear their helmets.  I think.  ??  I'm sure it's a good thing.  PUT A HELMET ON! (listen around 2min 30 sec)

Happy Mother's Day

We've had a busy weekend!  Just before we ran out the door to church this morning we snapped a few photos.  In case anyone is wondering...our day was normal which included all children at various times: crying, getting spanked, throwing fits, whining, laughing, playing, napping, crawling, chasing, wrestling, and having a good day!  ;)  We hope you had a good day, too!

Happy Mother's Day!

A new bike for Shelby!

Yesterday we were able to find a bike for Shelby!  It's an early birthday present.  :)  She has been wanting to ride a bike without training wheels and today she did it!  After church Josh took the training wheels off her new bike and we headed to the park.  She did great - the first time!  She'll need to work on stopping :) but we are very proud of her.

Here she goes!

(Notice Vivian's homemade "balance bike" - don't worry, a real one is on the way.)  :)

Jared's first haircut

It was time.  Jared was getting a bit of a rat-tail, so today we buzzed his head!  He did great and never even flenched.

The finished buzz cut.  Doesn't look very different, does it?  Hehe.  That blonde hair!  It sure feels neat.  :)

Beautiful!

The weather has been beautiful here lately!  Today we enjoyed a hike up at Squilchuck State Park.  We were the only ones on the trail!  It was a perfect morning for a hike and the shady trail was very nice.  We had a busy day that ended with a fun purchase ~ more about that another time.  :)

How are we, you ask?  Much better!  Aside from the lingering cough we all are doing much, much better.  Praise God!!!

Our landscaping is coming to life and there are amazing flowers blooming all around.
(Poor Jared in a pink car...oh well, he loves being pushed around the yard!)  The flowers behind Shelby (and pictured below) are so beautiful and fragrant!

We have several rose bushes and just about every day we pick one or two ~ they usually end up in Shelby and Vivian's hair.

Vivian was so tired the other day!  She was sleeping in her booster seat and I let her stay once we got home.  After 20 or 30 minutes I unbuckled her and tried to wake her to come in the house when she was ready.  I went back to check on her and she was knocked out cold like this!  After some pictures :) I brought her inside and she woke up.  Sweet girl.

Shelby is so helpful and does a good job playing with Jared.

Three sweeties in the tub!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there!  Keep up the good work and keep loving those kiddos!

Down: 5/5

If you live in the Wenatchee area, you'll want to stay far away from this house!  :(  Here's what we've been up to:
Week of April 12th: Shelby sick with stomach bug of some sort - all week.
Week of April 19th: All three kiddos had fevers and some cold symptoms...Vivian's turned into pneumonia.
Week of April 26th: Vivian in the hospital for four days; Shelby got pink eye the day Vivian went into the hospital; Josh got sick on Tuesday (fever and sore throat); Vivian came home Wednesday; Shelby and Jared got fevers again; Friday night Josh got bad pink eye!  Saturday Josh went to Urgent Care to get medicine, which he describes: "it is like putting Vaseline in your eyes."  Jared is getting a tooth.
Week of May 3rd so far: Jared has pink eye; I (Sharon) have a sore throat and have just about lost my voice; Josh's eyes are still yucky...but!  The girls seem to be good!!!  Aside from Shelby's cough.

Needless to say, we haven't done a lot of school these past three weeks!  We did still throw Jared his 1st Birthday party on Saturday, April 25th and it was as good a day as it could have been to have a party.  No reports of friends that came to the party being sick so we are thankful for that.

Gesh ~ it's been crazy around here.  I know lots of others are sick, too.  We are praying for you! And we are sooooo thankful to all of you who have been praying for us!  There were some scary times and we know that God always has each of us in the palm of His hand. We are blessed to be together as a family.  We are blessed by our loving friends here in Wenatchee helping to take care of us.

Here are some pictures of our family these past few days.
Vivian doing her albuterol inhaler (4/26/15, after first ER trip and before going into the hospital).  It didn't help.

Yesterday: Kiddos having a blast in the "waterbox" ~ we decided to do all water instead of 1/2 sand and 1/2 water, for now anyway.

Saturday: Josh's yucky pink eye.

Saturday afternoon: Handsome boy sitting on the soccer ball.

Jared is getting to be a fast crawler!  He is especially fast if there is something he wants.  Here's what he crawls fast for:
-open dishwasher (so he can crawl onto the open door)
-open door to go outside
-open refrigerator so he can play with condiments or anything he can grab
-the bathroom - he loves taking a bath!
-to chase the girls
-to get to someone laying on the floor so that he can cuddle with them
-crayons, markers, stickers, paper...anything he isn't suppose to have

He is getting to where while cruising he will let go of something on purpose to see if he can stand on his own.  Pretty cute!

And just a fun fact about our kids right now ~
Shelby weighs in at 44 pounds
Vivian weighs in at 33 pounds
Jared weighs in at 22 pounds

Hope you have a great week!

Vivian was sick

I haven't had a chance to update the blog this week as Vivian was sick.  She had pneumonia which caused breathing issues (wheezing, retraction, and up to 60 breaths/min), high fever (105), and increased heart rates (as high as 167 beats/min resting).  The poor girl's body was working really hard.  She was in the hospital Sunday through Wednesday.
IV in the ER - stayed in the whole time and she did great with it.

Exhausted.  She did earn three beanie babies for doing well taking medicine and being brave.

Up and moving around a bit on Tuesday.

Being silly with Daddy.  Josh stayed the first two nights with Vivian and was with her a lot.  They had a strong bond before and even more so now.  Very sweet relationship!

Mommy and Vivian snuggling a bit.

On a walk down the hall.  She had to wear a mask if she left her room.  And everyone that came in our room had to wear a mask.

They were so glad to be playing together again!

She'll be on antibiotics for another 8 days.  Vivian is very glad to be home!
